In an era of industrial revolution electrical motors specifically induction motors took two third share of total motor installed worldwide. At that time electrical motors were designed at the efficiency level which can withstands the required temperature rise and manufactured for minimum cost, hence a huge energy inefficient motor cluster was immediately required to be replaced by energy efficient motors. Mandatory implementation of national and international standards directed electrical motor manufacturers to design and develop energy efficient motors for market sustainability. Due to advanced design software, development of new material and smart manufacturing technology, electrical motor performance lifted from standard efficiency to premium efficiency. At present to reduce intense energy consumption and CO2 emission worldwide, industries are encouraged or required to install super premium efficiency motors.
